The cutoff  value is the amount deducted from a tents length and width to prevent rainwater from penetrating your tent floor.  For Example, a tent with dimension of 86″(L) x 46″(W) and a cutoff of 2″ would have a footprint dimension of 82″(L) x 42″(W).
